Respect The Content

Money,
Love,
Sex,
Fitness,…..
Wait!

Above mentioned words are tried and tested triggers in our day to day life. Right ?

But now, suddenly “content” has grabbed its position in this list. All companies, big or small want to have a strong content on their website along with every promotional and introductory tools they come up with.

“Content writing”

10 years ago, hardly anybody knew about this concept in the Indian market. I started writing professionally in the year 2014. My internship in one PR agency introduced me to this concept for the first time and before I could know, it spread like fragrance, everywhere.

Gradually, I decided to start working as a freelancing content writer along with my permanent job. Slowly, slowly I realized the pressure almost every content writer must be feeling for being stuck to one chair for hours just to show how much creatively she/he can write.

What kind of hypocrisy is this ? How can you stick on person to one place for hours and months to come and expect creativity out of him/her. A person has to be free to write better.

With the same thought, I decoded not to work for anybody anymore and start writing for myself on my terms.

This decision has brought me into the world of fulltime freelancers.  This world is competitive, demand alertness, patience and tolerance for companies who are not ready to accept  the value of content writing.

Here, I witness another layer of hypocrisy!

Here, companies contact you and expect you to work on such a low charges that at one point you unknowingly compare yourself with a roadside vendors and realize that even their work, time and profit ratio would be netter than you.
Most of the times this happens when third party people contact you and ask you to work for their clients again not to mention on very less charges.

Now lets come to my part of hypocrisy !

I accept these projects anyway! As I need to build my empire in this market. And honestly, I respect my content and want it to capture as much space on the internet as possible.

I really want companies to understand that-

Present market might be working on negotiation and it might be more about getting things done in as much less cost as possible than the quality and honesty of the content; but if anybody out there is really ready to open eyes and SEE (not just look), he/she will realize that content can really not be compromised.

I hope I get clients who understand this and I hope I deliver them with the best they deserve.

I request all the writers and companies that-

Lets respect the content !
